When I find myself in a ruminating place, I make soup. I don't know why but something about it makes me feel calm. This month I made my ​mom's lentil soup​ because it felt like a good way to remember her. May the season remind us all we are loved by a Father who understands tender days.

My mom never made desserts, except for one. The legend of the Apple Brown Betty lives on as the perfect and only fall dessert in my heart.
